Please follow the guidelines on this page for the submission of your abstract.  

Abstract Submission Instructions 

Authors are invited to submit a 400-500 words abstract related to renewable energies, clean technology, management, decision sciences, social sciences, computer science, environmental science, circular economy, sustainability or any other field relevant for the seminar ( see more,  section titled 'SAS Network invites papers for TST 2019' below). Please add 3-5 keywords describing the abstract content. Please send your abstract ( without figure and diagram ) by 30th August by email to the address: sas.aalto2019@gmail.com. Preferred file format for abstract submission is pdf (alternatively docx). When you send your abstract, please specify the parallel session in which you want to present it. The sessions are: 

1. Engineering and Technology
2. Business and Economics
3. Arts, Design and Architecture
4. Decision Science
5. Sustainability Science

Recommended format for the abstract:  Use 12 pt Times New Roman font, except for the title which should be in 12 pt bold font. Centre the title, the authors' names, the addresses, and keywords. You can include up to five keywords. Justify the body of the text both left and right.

* All abstracts should be in line with the principle of sustainable development.

Please add here a short biography describing yourself and your research (the presenting author of the abstract). Length of the biography should be approx. 6-8 lines (this is not counted to the 400-500 words limit for the abstract). SAS Network invites papers for TST 2019 for:

Engineering and Technology: Renewable energies, Zero energy building , Smart city, Bio-technology, Energy storage systems, Waste to energy , Design processes, and Information technology  

Business and Economics: Management, Circular economy, Corporate governance and Business law

Arts, Design and Architecture: Environmental and human-centered design, Digital media, Societal engagement , Urban design , and Space planning,

Decision Science : Business dynamics, Risk management, Social acceptability , Forestry,  and Biological cell-microfluidic devices

Sustainability Science: Climate resilient future, Carbon neutral society , Cyber, water and food security, and Sustainability for Anthropocene

Selected papers from the seminar will be considered for publication in an edited book. All those who presents (oral) their work will be invited to submit their full paper for review. The process of acceptance will be similar to any other journal submission, i.e., the manuscripts will be peer reviewed before acceptance. Please note that the publication of scientific book chapters will be based on the originality, importance and significant contribution to science, scientific research and the society.

Biography Examples

XYZ is professor and director of social studies at School of Engineering at Harvard University . She has published on decision support systems, acceptability of circular economy and renewable energy policies, and edited and co-edited journals to renewable energies in Europe. Her current research interests include decision support of system thinking, circular economy, acceptability  and  renewable energy policies in Europe .
